Attend Tonight’s Southeast Commonwealth Conversations and Speak Directly to Your Senators

Attend tonight’s Southeast Commonwealth Conversations – and get a chance to speak directly to all the Senators in attendance about whatever you want!
This is a BIG DEAL and a GREAT way to have your voice heard. Senate President Stan Rosenberg said these forums help drive their legislative agenda for the year. Let them know what’s important!
The forum will be hosted by Senator Vinny deMacedo, Senator Julian Cyr, and Senator Michael Brady. Other Senators and the Senate President will be there too.
Time: 6:45pm – 8:30pm
Location: Dr. W Arnone Community School
Address: 135 Belmont St # 1, Brockton MA 02301
If you want to speak, put your name on a list when you arrive. During the town hall they’ll let you know when you’re on deck to speak and when you’re up. When you’re up you have 2 minutes to share your thoughts with all the senators.
Not sure what to talk about? Here’s a few ideas:
* Ask your senators to pass SD.98. “Presidential Tax Returns Bill” which would prohibit presidential candidates from appearing on the MA ballot if they didn’t disclose their taxes.
* Ask your senators to oppose dangerous new gun laws that would repeal common sense protections we have in place in MA. Oppose bills SD 1157 and SD 1889.
* Ask your senators to support and pass the SD 1596 the Safe Communities Act, which would protect all state residents by making sure our tax dollars are not used to enforce federal immigration law, consistent with Massachusetts values, our history, our Constitution and our laws.
* Ask your senators to support any issue that’s important to you: healthcare, education, the environment, etc. Share a brief personal story of how it affects you to make it even more powerful.
During or afterward, tweet us @ActTogetherMA and use the tour’s hashtags: #MAConvos and #SEConvos And follow those hashtags throughout the day as the Senators post during their tour of the Southeast.
